Doncaster Tips: Jack Dexter
Looked a sprinter going places when running up at hat-trick at the end of last season.
Jack Dexter was a most progressive horse last season and looking at his profile, I expect there is more to come in the 2.30 Doncaster.
Jim Goldie’s sprinter burst into life last autumn racking up a hat-trick of victories over five, six and seven furlongs. It highlighted his versatility but also his talent because he was able to win races that weren’t over his optimal trip.
I think today’s trip of six furlongs is his forte and this being only his 12th start he could mature into a smart sprinter.
The one black mark against his name was defeat in a Listed contest last November. I’m willing to forgive that run as it came after a succession of tough races and he’d probably had enough for the season.
