Doncaster Tips: High Jinx
Went down by a neck in the race last year and the softer conditions favour him.
There isn’t a huge amount of strength in depth in the 2.40 Doncaster and the race looks between last year’s first two – Times Up and High Jinx.
A neck separated them 12 months ago and this looks a great opportunity for High Jinx to gain his revenge.
The softening conditions work in his favour as both his wins have come on good to soft ground and he is yet to race on anything faster than good. That might explain why we haven’t seen him for 106 days, with presumably the Prix Du Cadran next on his agenda after the Doncaster Cup.
Times Up is a reliably yardstick but two years his junior we might not have seen the best of High Jinx yet.
High Jink is widely available at 9/4 but I recommend backing him with Ladbrokes, who will refund losing bets (max £25) if your horse finishes second at Doncaster this week.
