Doncaster Tips: Baby Strange

Two-time course and distance winner who handles cut in the ground. Not had much luck on his last couple of starts but still ran well.

I’ve decided to split my stakes in the 4.25 Doncaster to cover two horses that look well handicapped and will enjoy the soft conditions. The second of these is another course and distance winner – Baby Strange.

At the ripe old age of nine, he still looks as good as ever. Three starts back he won a class 2 handicap at Newcastle, a notch above the competition he faces this afternoon, and as he’s got older he’s appreciated some cut, his last two wins were on good to soft and heavy ground.

Last time out at Newmarket he was only beaten 0.25 lengths despite struggling for racing room. It was a similar story at Goodwood where he was also disadvantaged by the draw.  Granted a clear run, he should go close at 10/1 (Ladbrokes).
