Danish Duke At Home On Fibresand
Record at Southwell is 2102 and beaten last time by setting an overly strong pace.
The 1.10 Southwell contains three horses that were successful last time out but the value is found backing Danish Duke to regain the winning thread.
His record on the Fibresand is 2102 and his only poor performance came when he finished plum last on the 15 December despite being sent off co-favourite. One can only assume that some physical ailment brought about the poor performance.
Last time out he was back to his best and was slightly unlucky to lose to Falcon’s Reign (also in today’s line up).
Tom Eaves set a very strong pace (95.4% finishing speed) and couldn’t quite see the race out as he was caught in the last 50 yards. He earned an adjusted speed rating of 63 that day, which should keep him competitive in a class 6 handicap.
Danish Duke managed to win in a higher grade back in November and if his rider is able to conserve more energy in the first part of the race he can win again at 8/1 (Bet365).
