Caspian Prince Potential Dark Horse

Not beaten far in Listed and Group sprints in France and well drawn on his return to 5f.

Whilst bookmakers are protecting themselves from a potential Tony Carroll gamble at Lingfield, the stable’s best bet of the day could sneak under the radar in the 4.40 Kempton.

Secret Millionaire is a notable entry in the 1.00 Lingfield after he landed a massive gamble at the track last year but Caspian Prince looks by far the better bet.

Having only his third start in the UK, he drops back to 5f for the first time, what I regard as his best trip.

In France he won a £20,000 handicap at Deauville and was only beaten by 1.25 lengths in a Listed race and 5.75 lengths in a Group 3 contest; all at 5f. Those sort of performances mark him out as a 95+ rated horse and he looks well treated racing off 85 this evening.

His last two runs at Wolverhampton can easily be ignored as he pulled too hard in slowly run 6f races, as you would expect from a 5f horse.

Drawn in stall 2, Mark Coumbe can ride him more positively and with a first time tongue tie also added, the clues are there. At 12/1 (Bet365) he could be the big gamble of the day.
