Brighton Tips: Athenian Garden

Brighton Tips: Athenian Garden

Has run reasonably well this winter and Patrick O’Donnell is good value for his claim.

Very little appeals from a betting perspective at today’s five meetings but it’s worth throwing a dart at Athenian Garden at a big price.

Outside of amateur events, she has run reasonable well of late. She was unlucky when sixth at Kempton in January, running the third fastest closing sectional despite being badly hampered.

She ran well again on her return to the track in March, recovering a slow start to clock the second fastest closing sectional and a reasonable speed rating (41) given her low official rating.

Her strike-rate is poor and her form on turf is almost non-existent (only 4 starts) but this is a bad race and the stiff track might play to her strengths.

She carries a light weight aided by the promising apprentice Patrick O’Donnell and is worth a speculative wager at 22/1 (Bet365).
