Ayr Tips: Mayoman

Has an excellent strike rate for a sprinter and better than the bare form of his last two runs.

The top two in the market are opposable in the 2.30 Ayr. Head Space is a progressive sprinter but the last time he tackled 5f he looked badly outpaced and was lucky to win in the end. He won’t get the blistering gallop he needs today, with only one front-runner in the race.

Hazelrigg has also seen support this morning but he is a frustrating horse to back. He has plenty of talent but doesn’t like putting his head in front. A variety of headgear has been tried to encourage him to go through with his finishing effort but 4 wins from 43 races tells the story.

At the opposite end of the spectrum is Mayoman; with 10 wins from 39 starts. He has not enjoyed the best of luck recently, hampered at York and forced to race wide at Musselburgh. Nevertheless, he still looks capable of winning in this grade.

He has already scored twice this season and was a comfortable winner at Thirsk three races ago. He handles most ground and regular jockey David Nolan is back on board, having won 5 times on the horse. At 14/1 (Paddy Power) he is the value in the race.
