Ayr Tips: Bonnie Charlie

Dandy Nicholls’ runners are regaining their form after a quiet period but the market hasn’t adjusted to this.

The market looks broadly correct for the 2.35 Ayr but the one undervalued horse in the race is Bonnie Charlie.

Trainer Dandy Nicholls has not enjoyed a good turf season, his string running below par from April to June, however in the last fortnight his horses have regained their form.

His yard are enjoying a 28% strike rate in July with five winners already, a marked improvement on the previous three months when his strike rate was in single figures and he only mustered 12 winners. It is prudent to ignore any form from that period.

Once rated in the 100s, Bonnie Charlie has finally come down to a workable handicap mark, placing twice in class 4 company last season. Racing in the same grade this afternoon, he could run better than odds of 20/1 (William Hill) now his stable have turned the corner.
