Ayr Silver Cup Tips: Harrison George

Since blinkers have been applied, he’s finished 112. Handles cut in the ground and has the stamina to cope with a strongly run 6f.

It could be the day for the veterans at Ayr with Harrison George expected to run a big race in the Silver Cup at 2.40

A Listed winner back in 2010 and rated 114 at his peak, Harrison George isn’t quite the force of old but he retains plenty of enthusiasm.

P J O’Gorman has done a great job getting the 8-year-old back into shape and applying blinkers has been a masterstroke. Since headgear was applied, he’s finished 112, his only defeat coming over an inadequate 5f.

Since joining his new yard he’s yet to finish outside the top two when the word ‘soft’ has appeared in the going description, therefore any juice in the ground will also be to his advantage.

With front-runners dotted all over the field, the race should be run at a strong gallop, no problem for Harrison George who is proven over 7f. At 14/1 (Bet365) he is a solid bet.
