Ayr Racing Tips: Angelo Poliziano
Not got his ground this season and dropped to an attractive handicap mark as a result.
The 5.25 Ayr should be run at a blistering gallop but Angelo Poliziano will have no problem living with the fast pace as he drops down in grade. All his wins have come at a class 5 level but today he races in a class 6.
Often a slide down the handicap is the result of a horse on the wane but for Angelo Poliziano it has simply been a lack of good ground. His record on going rated good or faster is 3/24 compared to 0/9 on anything good to soft or softer.
The last time Angelo Poliziano was able to race on good ground over 5f, in this sort of company, was back in May 2011, a race he duly won. This season has largely been a washout but he has shown enough sparkle in unsuitable conditions to warrant backing.
