Ayr Bronze Cup Tips: Farlow

Been running well in hot handicaps this year and a strongly run 6f is ideal.

Richard Fahey has a tremendous record at Ayr’s Western Meeting and he can take the Bronze Cup (4.00) with Farlow.

The horse has been on my radar since last October when he ran a blinder to finish fifth at Doncaster from a bad draw. He was the highest finisher from a single digit draw and handled the soft conditions which bodes well for today.

He has run several good races this season in hot handicaps, the pick being his 3.25 length defeat at the hands of Mass Rally at York.

To be seen to best effect he needs a strong pace, as he can be sluggish in the early part of his races. Last time out he was only beaten 0.25 lengths over 7f but a strongly run 6f should do the same job.

Paul Hanagan takes the ride (finished second & fifth when onboard previously) and there’s a good chance Farlow has been laid out for the race. At 18/1 (William Hill) he is a great bet.
