Ascot Tips: Trustan Times
Can follow in the footsteps of past ‘Fixed Brush’ winners and become a top class hurdler.
Big Buck’s season ending injury is a blow for connections but it reinvigorates the staying hurdles division from a betting perspective. The World Hurdle in March suddenly looks wide open and several candidates will be hoping to enhance their claims with victory in the 2.00 Ascot.
Smad Place has been priced up favourite for the race mainly because of his exploits last season. However, he was very disappointing at Wetherby on his reappearance and he looks too short in the betting with questions marks over his well-being.
There are no such worries for Trustan Times who has been in excellent form with two victories already this season. Last time out he took the Fixed Brush hurdle at Haydock, which often throws up a top class horse, with Dynaste and Grands Crus recent winners.
Trustan Times took the contest off top weight, no mean feat considering the depth of opposition in the race. He looks rapidly progressive and the value bet at 10/3 (William Hill).
