Ascot Tips: Mince
Great value on one of the most exciting young sprinters in the country.
The 3.05 Ascot provides an excellent opportunity to bet on the thrilling young sprinter - Mince.
On her last start at York, she broke the course record over 6f, earning a massive speed rating in the process. It was her third win in a row and she is clearly a filly going in the right direction.
Normally that kind of form would see her start odds-on, but the soft ground at Ascot has spooked the betting public. I’m not so scared. Last season she won on good to soft and finished a nose behind Ballesteros on heavy ground; good form considering the horse is a proven mudlark.
As far as I’m concerned we are getting a generous 9/4 (Blue Square) on a terrific horse. Betting with Blue Square also gives us the insurance that if she is beaten by less than a length, we get our stake refunded as a free bet, up to £20.
