Ascot Tips: Mac’s Power
Never runs a bad race at Ascot and would have won a couple of big handicaps by now if granted better luck.
I’ve lost count the number of times Mac’s Power has been unlucky, just granted reasonable luck he must go close in the 3.55 Ascot.
In last month’s Wokingham over course and distance, he got no sort of run and it seems it’s a race he is cursed in. He ‘won’ his side in 2011 but ultimately was drawn on the wrong part of the track.
Despite this ill fortune, he never runs a bad race at Ascot and in this smaller field he is more likely to enjoy a trouble free passage. He is drawn next to Lexi’s Hero, the probable pace-maker so the draw shouldn’t be an excuse either.
Consistently one of the top sprint handicappers around, at 7/2 (Ladbrokes) he is a good bet.
