Ascot Tips: Boots And Spurs

Ran well in big field handicaps last season, handles cut in the ground and his poor performance in the Spring Mile was probably a blip.

Boots And Spurs ran some excellent races in heritage handicaps last season therefore it is a surprise to seem him priced at 25/1 for the Victoria Cup (3.50 Ascot).

In October, he finished a close sixth over course and distance and all his best form has come with cut in the ground.

Last time out he ran no sort of race in the Spring Mile but he’s bounced back from poor runs before and his stable are in much better form.

From stall 22 he should be able to grab the nearside rail and although his front-running style might not be ideal for this type of contest he can be a hard horse to pass.

With several bookmakers paying ¼ odds for a top-5 finish, he looks a solid each-way bet at 25/1 (Sportingbet)
