Alpha Tauri A Southwell Specialist
Bumped into some good horses in his last two races and couldn’t sustain the strong gallop. This is easier.
Alpha Tauri has a terrific record at Southwell with 8 wins and 13 placed efforts from 45 starts. He is still searching for his first win of the winter but he’s got an excellent chance in the 2.10 contest.
On his last two starts he’s been outclassed but still shown plenty of zest for racing, lying up with a strong pace each time before fading.
This afternoon he drops down in grade and the early pace is likely to be less frantic because he is up against slower horses.
He has finished fourth in this grade twice already this winter but the handicapper has relented and he races off his last winning mark.
