Wyndham Championship Tips: Blake Adams

Finished T7 at the USPGA last week and enjoying his most consistent year on tour. Has shot a pair of 65s at the Wyndham in recent years.

Rory McIlroy was the undoubted star of the USPGA Championship but sneaking under the radar with an excellent T7 finish was Blake Adams. It was his seventh top-25 of the season, a career best and a good indication of his steady progress.

The 36-year-old from Bartlesville, Oklahoma likes to keep it simple; he hits fairways and greens and tries to makes some putts.  Those tactics should serve him well at Sedgefield CC where a steady accumulation of birdies is the key to success.

This is the third time Adams has played the Wyndham Championship, finishing T30-T65 in the last two seasons and he has twice shot rounds of 65, proving he has the ability to go low.

Buoyed by his efforts at Kiawah Island, he looks a solid prospect at 80/1 (Stan James). Back him each-way and get ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
