Wyndham Championship Golf Tips: David Toms

Odds of 12/1 for a golf tournament might seem on the meagre side, but David Toms ticks all the boxes. He is 8th on tour for birdie average, 7th for scoring average, 18th for strokes gained putting and 3rd for scoring average before the cut. All the stats point to a high finish.

Away from the number crunching, Toms is playing superb golf in the real world. A weekend finish of 65-67 was the best at the PGA Championship and enough for a T4 finish. That was his sixth top 10 on tour this year.

Sedgefield CC is also a course that suits Toms. Not especially long, it gives the shorter hitters a chance, as he proved with a second place finish last year. I’d be very surprised if he didn’t go close again.
