Wyndham Championship Golf Tips: Brendon De Jonge

Brendon De birdies

A birdie machine, ideal for this relatively simple course.

With an average winning score of -19, it doesn’t take a genius to work out that you need to make birdies to win and plenty of them. Brendon De Jonge has feasted on them this season; he ranks second on tour with a total of 327 birdies.

Harshly regarded as a flat track bully, the Zimbabwean has shown versatility in his last few tournaments. He finished T26 at the PGA Championship, a continuation of a good run that has seen him finish T7-T13-T4-T26 in his last four events.

The T7 at the John Deere Classic was a tournament he probably should have won. A final round of 74 dropped him out of contention as his putter went cold at the wrong time. That disappointment only seems to have spurred him on, and the Wyndham Championship looks like an ideal place to make that breakthrough.

Back him each way at ¼ the odds for a top five finish.
