McDowell and Furyk Lead US Open

Furyk: The Grinder is doing the business in San Francisco.

The Northern Irishman and the American have both won this tournament before.

The bookies can’t split the two men sharing the lead heading into the final round of the US Open; Jim Furyk and Graeme McDowell are both available at best prices of 11/4 with WilliamHill.

It was an excellent Saturday for the 2010 champion McDowell who moved to one-under-par with a 68. The 42-year-old Furyk (70) also has pedigree having won the 2003 US Open at Olympia Fields, Illinois. Now he is hunting a second major title at The Olympic Club in San Francisco.

Lee Westwood is next in the betting at 11/2 with Bet365. The Englishman shot a fabulous 67 to move to +2, just three shots off the pace. Freddie Jacobson is on +1 after a 68 and he’s 16/1 with Skybet.

It was a bad day for Tiger Woods who carded a 75 to leave him a mountain to climb on +4. He is 16/1 (Boylesports) while Ernie Els (18/1 WilliamHill), Nicolas Colsaerts (22/1 Bet365) and Blake Adams (45/1 Bet365) complete the group at +2.
