US Open Tips: Marc Leishman

Playing some of the best golf of his career. Finished T13-T11 on last two starts and 11th in the all-around ranking.

Marc Leishman has been playing some terrific golf this season and isn’t quite getting the results he deserves.

Ranked 18th on tour in adjusting scoring average and 11th in the all-around ranking he is right up there with the best but unfortunately his great play has only resulted in one top-10.

Recently he’s been getting warmer with T13-T11 finishes in his last two tournaments and he might catch fire at Oakmont.

The 32-year-old is quietly putting together an impressive record in majors, he has three top-5s and lost in a play-off at the Open Championship last season. His record at the US Open is relatively week (MC-T51-MC-MC) but having grown up in Australia he shouldn’t be fazed by fast and firm conditions.

Blessed with an excellent short game (14th in strokes gained around the green) he can save par when others can’t. That could make the difference when the scores are added up at the end of the week and at 100/1 (BetVictor) he is a good each-way bet.
