United Leasing Championship Tips: Tag Ridings
Was riding high last year until a dreadful finish saw him drop six shots in two holes. Finished T11 in 2012.
With just one solitary victory in 341 starts (Web.com and PGA Tour combined) Tag Ridings falls firmly into the ‘journeyman’ category.
His main strength is his prodigious distance off the tee and it will be a huge asset at Victoria National this week.
Ridings is currently ranked 8th in total driving on tour and although he has nothing better than a T16 this season, I quietly fancy his chances this week.
Last year Ridings finished T44 at the United Leasing Championship but a top-15 finish was firmly on the cards until he finished double-quadruple bogey, dropping six shots in his final two holes.
Ignore that disaster because he played very well for 70-holes and it was a similar story in 2012 when he finished T11.
It is obviously a course he likes and at 250/1 (Paddy Power) he is a great value each-way bet.
