United Leasing Championship Tips: Smylie Kaufman
Second in the tour’s all-around ranking and arrives on the back of consecutive T4s.
The wonderfully named Smylie Kaufman has had plenty to beam about recently with consecutive T4 finishes on tour and there should be more to come.
The 23-year-old returns to Victoria National for the first time since 2008, when he endured a horrendous couple of days as a junior. He shot rounds of 83-82 playing in the AJGA Rolex Tournament of Champions and has waited a long time to set the record straight.
“I wasn’t even close to ready for it,” said Kaufman of his first crack at Victoria National. “To say that I’m very anxious to get back is an understatement. I want some revenge.”
Kaufman couldn’t be better prepared this time round. He is second in the tour’s all-around ranking and doesn’t lack for power, his drives average over 310 yards this season.
At 66/1 (Coral) he is a cracking price to get his revenge on the course.
