Fire In Sabbatini Still Burns
Hasn’t finished outside the top-30 in his last six visits to Muirfield Village and arrives in good form
In six visits to Muirfield Village, Rory Sabbatini is yet to finish outside the top-30 and has five top-20s to his name.
The course fits the South African’s eye and his past record alone makes him an attractive betting proposition.
It has been four years since Sabbatini last appeared in the winner’s enclosure but recent results suggest he is coming into form.
The 39-year-old has finished MC-T6-MC-T10-T30 in his last five starts and although he can be streaky (eight missed cuts this season), when he makes the weekend he usual contends.
Sabbatini’s best days are probably behind him but he is 19th in adjusted scoring average this season and is playing well enough to pick up a win.
At 100/1 (Paddy Power) he is a good each-way bet with 1/4 odds for a top-6 finish.
