Scottish Open Golf Tip: Justin Rose

Justin Rose driving well

Finished like a train at the AT&T National. Is driving the ball brilliantly and has a game made for links golf.

The Scottish Open is in its traditional spot, one week before the Open Championship, but at a new course this year. Castle Stuart takes over from Loch Lomond as the host. Being a links course, it should offer an ideal test before Sandwich, although tournament organisers stress the course will not be brutal in set up.

An international field lines up for the tournament; with several PGA Tour members paying a visit before the Open. With little course form to go on, I am going for a proven links player in Justin Rose.

Tipped last week at the AT&T National he gave us a good run for our money with an excellent 65-69, to finish the tournament tied 15th. From tee to green he was very good, Rose topped the driving stats for accuracy at Aronimink and tied 15th for GIRs. It was his putting that let him down and when it got hot on Saturday he was too far behind.

The rough won’t be unplayable but there is still a premium on driving accuracy at Castle Stuart. With his low ball flight, Justin Rose has a game made for links golf.

Back him each way with Bet365 who are going ¼ odds for a top SIX finish.
