Deutsche Bank Golf Tips: Louis Oosthuizen
Led the field in GIRs on the way to a T5 finish at the Barclays. Just needs a few more putts to drop.
Whilst all the talk has been about the Ryder Cup this week, my headline tip for the Deutsche Bank is a player free from the distractions – Louis Oosthuizen.
The former Open champion arrives in Boston on the back of an encouraging T5 at the Barclays, his fifth straight top-25 worldwide. Although this will be the first time he’s played the tournament he has all the attributes to do well. He drives the ball miles, hits plenty of greens and is a clutch putter.
Last week he led the field for GIRs at Bethpage Black and if he continues in the same vain he will create plenty of opportunities. Ranked 24th on tour for birdie average, there is a good chance he’ll take them.
At 33/1 (Ladbrokes) he looks outstanding each-way value, with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
