Vettel Marches On

Vettel is unstoppable

It was another weekend of frustration for Lewis Hamilton, but everyone else was left in the champion's slipstream again too.

The Formula One season is gearing up for an exciting climax ...if you just pretend Sebastian Vettel isn’t there! The defending champion is 1/25 with SkyBet after yet another win, this time in Belgium, extended his Championship lead to a mammoth 92 points. The battle for second place is anyone’s guess however. Vettel’s Red Bull team-mate Mark Webber is 2/1 with Coral to be runner-up behind the German star after he completed another 1-2 for the team that remains the fastest in qualification every race.

The Australian driver is 10 points ahead of Fernando Alonso after he finished down in fourth in his Ferrari. The Italian is a best-price 5/2 with Skybet in the ‘without Vettel’ market. Jenson Button had a pretty good day after the disappointment of his qualifying fiasco on Saturday saw him start down in 13th. The 2009 world champion again showed his ability to work his way through the field as he claimed a podium spot in third position. Button is 8/1 with Betfred to finish second behind the German - he currently trails Webber by 18 points on 149.

Three points further back, but favoured by the bookies, is Lewis Hamilton. The controversial McLaren driver apologised after crashing out at Spa after a collision with Kamui Kobayshi’s Sauber. Curiously, Hamilton is just 5/2 - also best-price with Betfred - to win the ‘without Vettel’ market. That despite currently sitting fifth in the standings.
