Hamilton 4/1 For Title After Monza Triumph
The McLarens have now won three GPs on the spin as the pursuit of Fernando Alonso hots up.
Lewis Hamilton is now a best price of 4/1 (Bet365) to win the Drivers Championship after dominating the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday. The 27-year-old cruised home ahead of Sergio Perez to climb from fifth to second in the overall standings.
Fernando Alonso (4/6 Ladbrokes) now has a 37 point lead at the summit after a podium finish saw him extend his advantage over the Red Bulls of Sebastian Vettel (7/1 Bet365) and Mark Webber (50/1 Betfred) who were both forced to retire.
Kimi Raikkonen (12/1 Sportingbet) finished fifth and now sits third in the standings, just a point behind Hamilton. It was a disappointing afternoon for Jenson Button (50/1 Boylesports) who failed to finish having been running in second behind his McLaren team-mate.
Standings:
Alonso 179
Hamilton 142
Raikkonen 141
Vettel 140
Webber 132
Button 101
