Vettel Triumphs again

Turkish delight for Vettel as he wins his third race of the season.

Normal service resumed in Turkey as Sebastian Vettel led from start to finish. Despite destroying his car in a crash on Friday, the German was imperious. His level of superiority was such that he barely appeared on the telecast of the race, all the action unfurling behind him. Vettel is now 2/5 to retain his world championship as he leads Lewis Hamilton by 34 points in the standings.

Down the field there were mini revivals for Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso whom both made it onto the podium. Their odds remain unchanged for the drivers’ championship with Webber at 14/1 and Alonso 12/1.

Out to 9/2 for the title, Lewis Hamilton admitted it wasn’t one of his best days, “I should have been up to third at the beginning of the race, and I could have been battling for second,” said the Briton after a hasty first lap manoeuvre cost him two places.

“I know the race is not won at the first two corners, but I was really impatient, so it’s my fault.”
