Young Boys v Liverpool Tip

Rodgers in rotation.

The Reds are sending the juniors to Switzerland but the odds don't reflect that.

Brendan Rodgers will ensure it’s Young Boys versus Young Boys on Thursday night, but for the hosts that will be only in name. Liverpool travel to Switzerland with teenagers Yesil, Suso, Coady, Wisdom and Morgan in the squad. The likes of Gerrard, Suarez and Reina are all staying at home.

There are some damning statistics facing the Reds even before you factor in fielding a weakened side. Liverpool have scored only twice in their last 8 European away games combined (excluding qualifers), and haven’t won in that sequence. On the other hand, Young Boys won all four home matches they played on their last European adventure in 2010-11; Tottenham were among their victims at the Wankdorf Stadium.

The Merseysiders clearly have one, or maybe even both eyes on Manchester United’s visit on Sunday. The trip to Bern is not one they are taking very seriously so best odds of 19/10 (BetVictor) on the home win look very appealing.
