Wolves v Manchester City Tip

Aguero: 2 goals last weekend.

Hard to see how this match won't turn into a bit of a bloodbath.

No sooner had Manchester City been written off by the world and his dog in the title race Mancini’s boys seemed to re-discover their care-free early season swagger. They stuffed West Brom 4-0 at the Etihad before surpassing that by emerging from a supposedly tricky trip to Carrow Road with a 6-1 victory.

The trouble with betting on their trip to Wolves is finding some value in a game where the hosts aren’t given a prayer by anybody. I think the only solution is to back a real thrashing. The Blues are a meagre 6/4 (Skybet) to win by 3 goals or more at Molineux but the odds get much tastier by simply adding one more goal onto the margin of victory. The visitors are a best price 17/4 (StanJames) to win by four goals or more, which is a remarkable discrepancy, and one worth exploiting!

It’s not just that Carlos Tevez is suddenly playing like he’s making up for lost time. Sergio Aguero seems unburdened by having his fellow countryman supporting him in attack. With signs that David Silva may be perking up again, this should be a hugely one-sided contest.

For Wolves the situation is seriously bleak. A 0-0 draw at Sunderland was credible but to think it might mark a turning point after seven straight defeats would be seriously clutching at straws. I saw the highlights of that game and thought ‘at least they have a decent keeper in Wayne Hennessey’ - he’s now out injured for six months… It never rains but it pours, and relegation could be confirmed this weekend.
