League Cup Final Tip: Liverpool v Man City
Coutinho averages the most shots per game in the Premier League. Even allowing for a lot of long range efforts he is likely to find the net pretty regularly now he is fit again.
Liverpool’s hopes of League Cup success have been greatly improved by the return to fitness of Philippe Coutinho.
The Brazilian schemer enjoyed a purple patch in November with four goals in three top flight matches and in total he has five from 16.5 matches when you convert his league minutes played into game time.
He has the potential to run hot again given that he averages a Premier League high 4.3 shots per game in 2015-16. Even allowing for the fact that many of those efforts are long range (2.7), he has the quality to score on a regular basis. Besides, 1.6 shots per game from inside the penalty area is still decent for a midfielder.
The Reds would love to secure a first trophy under Klopp and there’s a sense they’re hitting Manchester City at a good time.
A score/win double on Coutinho/Liverpool looks great value at a best price of 17/2 with Paddy Power.
