Wigan v Liverpool Tip
The Latics have a fine recent record over the Merseysiders and they produced one of their best performances of the campaign last week.
Last weekend felt like the start of something for Wigan who famously kick-start their escapology bids when spring is just round the corner. Roberto Martinez must have been thrilled with the comprehensive nature of their 3-0 victory away to Reading. At best odds of 7/2 (Boylesports), they look handsomely priced to also take the spoils against Liverpool.
The Latics have a fine recent record against the Reds having only lost one of their last six Premier League showdowns with the Merseysiders. They won 2-1 at Anfield last March and a similar outcome must be all the more likely as this fixture is played at the DW Stadium.
Brendan Rodgers’ boys continue to infuriate as they lurch from the sublime to the ridiculous and back again. They have dished out some thrashings, particularly on their own patch, but disappointments never seem to be too far away.
Liverpool have actually failed to win any of their last five on the road and defeats have come against Zenit St Petersburg and Oldham recently. Wigan will have their tails up after climbing out of the relegation zone, and at the odds available they have to be backed on Saturday evening.
