West Ham v Tottenham Tip

The visitors would be flying even higher if they hadn't given away so many leads in 2012-13.

Spurs are the big favourites (13/10 Bet365) to win at Upton Park on Monday night and go third in the league in the process. I think they can extend their unbeaten run to 11 matches but they may just have to settle for the draw at 5/2 (BetVictor).

West Ham may be pretty wretched on their travels - they’ve lost six on the bounce - but in front of their own fans it’s a different story. Chelsea were defeated here in December and the Hammers are four unbeaten (W2 D2) in this neck of the woods in 2013.

But the tip I’m most drawn to for this derby involves the the half-time/full-time market where I’m convinced that Tottenham - Draw represents great value at best odds of 16/1 with Skybet.

Villas-Boas’s boys have surrendered 16 points from winning positions already this season and it could easily happen again. Spurs have played two tough Europa League ties with Lyon since West Ham last took to the field over two weeks ago.

That extra freshness could be crucial for the hosts who have finished strongly a few times lately. Victory over Swansea was secured after a late winner while before that the draw with QPR was retrieved after a second half comeback. At long odds it could easily happen again on Monday.
