West Brom v Sunderland Preview

West Brom v Sunderland Preview

West Brom are riding high shot and save percentages if either of these start to go south, they are in trouble.

West Brom are riding high in eighth place in the league but they’ve already reached their ceiling and the only way is down. In terms of expected goal difference I have them 16th in the league and although Tony Pullis teams tend to outperform their underlying metrics this is extreme.

West Brom have the second best scoring% (goals/shots on target) in the league and the fourth best save%. At some stage one or both of these metrics will start to revert to the mean and that spells trouble.

Ben Foster was West Brom’s best player last week and that came in a 4-0 drubbing. That must start alarm bells ringing and although this is lowly Sunderland don’t discount an an away win at 10/3 (BetVictor) in the draw no bet market.
