Villas-Boas Ready For Chelsea
Andre Villas-Boas is set to become Chelsea manager and the bookmakers have already priced up his chances of winning a trophy.
Having paid the £13.3 million release clause, it looks almost certain that Stamford Bridge will have a second Portuguese manager. Andre Villas-Boas is currently discussing personal terms but having resigned from Porto the move looks a formality.
With a huge price tag and a demanding owner, Villas-Boas is expected to deliver instant results. Coral make Chelsea 5/6 to win a major trophy next season, and 11/4 second favourites to win the Premier League. It is the Holy Grail of the Champions League Roman Abramovich is after, but despite the spending spree Chelsea are still 9/1 third favourites.
Money doesn’t guarantee instant success and Skybet are happy to offer evens that Chelsea don’t pick up a trophy next season. If that is the case, it will be interesting to see how much patience the owner has.
