United Odds-On To Retain Title

Manchester United are now odds-on to win the Premier League after beating Chelsea at Old Trafford.

Manchester United and Chelsea served up a treat for the neutral on Sunday. A crazy game that was more basketball than football enthralled the viewing public. There are sure to be many talking points, but the one that matters is that United are now a best price 4/5 (Ladbrokes) to win the Premier League. Having been 6/5 at the start of the weekend, defeats for Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and a draw for City saw United widen the gap on all their rivals.

Elsewhere it was another terrible weekend for Arsene Wenger. A third league defeat means that relegation is now as likely as the title according to some bookmakers, with 66/1 available on either.

A famous win for Blackburn has eased the pressure on Steve Kean, who is now 11/8 (Paddy Power) to be the next manager to leave his post in the Premier League. The previously untouchable Wenger now has the sword of Damocles above him. The Arsenal manager is 8/1 (William Hill) to lose his job having been 50/1 at the start of the season.
