Transfer Deadline Day Betting
The betting suggests Fernando Torres is a near certainty to join Chelsea but what other last minute coups are on the cards.
It is Transfer deadline day and all eyes are on the £50m transfer of Fernando Torres to Chelsea. Newspaper reports suggest the deal is close and Skybet agree going 1/5 that Torres is a Chelsea player by the end of the January window.
If the Torres deal goes through Kenny Dalglish is reported to have the money to spend and is eyeing up Andy Carroll as his replacement, with Liverpool now 10/1 shots (from 16s) to land the player by the end of the day. With the Luis Suarez deal already in the bag this might be optimistic paper talk designed to encourage long time suitors Tottenham to raise their bid. Spurs are still 11/10 with Skybet to land the big Newcastle striker by the close of the transfer window.
With central defenders queuing round the block at the phyisos of North London, Gary Cahill might be the subject of a last minute bid from Arsenal or Spurs. Skybet reckon long term admirer Arsene Wenger is in pole position and go 4/5 that Cahill joins Arsenal in January with Spurs an outside bet at 12/1.
