Swansea v Chelsea Tip

Swansea City have been little short of a revelation on their own patch this season with five wins, five draws and just one defeat coming in their top flight games at the Liberty Stadium.  Arsenal recently lost 3-2 in south Wales; Chelsea should arrive fearful of more of the same. Swansea are 5/2 (Coral) to win in the ‘draw no bet’ market; with your money back if the game ends level it looks like good value, with insurance.

The result over the Gunners was certainly no flash in the pan for the Swans. Brendan Rodgers’ side also drew 1-1 with Tottenham and were desperately unlucky to lose 1-0 to Man Utd in their only home loss. With the rub of the green they could have claimed another couple of major scalps. A 2-0 win at Aston Villa earlier this month also showed how far the newly promoted team have come. And don’t worry about the FA Cup defeat to Bolton; 10 changes were made to the team for that one with Tuesday in mind.

Admittedly, Chelsea have had a good January themselves but look beyond the results and there are still reasons for concern. The narrow victories over Wolves, Sunderland and QPR were all highly fortunate in their own way, and that sort of trend will catch up with you in the end.

I’m yet to be convinced that David Luiz is to be trusted at the heart of a Premier League defence. The next calamitous moment never looks too far away. The Blues are also lacking in firepower as much as ever. Drogba is in Africa, Torres hasn’t scored since October and Lampard may miss the game with a calf niggle. Even Sturridge is yet to score in 2012.

So the hosts may only need one or two goals to claim another famous victory. Coral offer the best ‘draw no bet’ odds on Swansea at 5/2, but with prices being cut across the market, best to move fast.
