Sunderland v Norwich Tip

Holt: Having a great campaign

Two teams side-by-side in the table who rarely lose and normally score.

Two teams on good form who sit 9th and 10th in the Premier League table, separated by just two points. With both sides always likely to score, but less likely to keep clean sheets, a score draw between Sunderland and Norwich at best odds of 4/1 (StanJames) looks like a shrewd bet.

The Black Cats have endured defeat just once in their last eight in all competitions under Martin O’Neill - an unlucky 1-0 reverse at Stamford Bridge. While results at the Stadium of Light have been good with just one defeat in the last nine, there have been as many draws as victories in that run (4).

The Canaries look exactly like the sort of opposition who could take a point away from the north-east. Unbeaten in their last six in all competitions, with one defeat in the last 10, isn’t it about time people stop underestimating Paul Lambert’s impressive side? Norwich have scored in every one of their last eight away outings, but the problems are down the other end - they have also conceded in each of those eight fixtures.
