The Toffees shouldn't come unstuck

Going with form all the way here as the bookies sit back and wait for three improving sides to stumble.

At best combined odds of 18/1 with Boylesports, this weekend we’re looking for Everton to beat WBA, Wigan to overcome Stoke and Blackpool to win at Leicester.

West Brom may have had a decent start but nobody’s looked sharper than the Toffees thus far. The 1-0 success over Man Utd was inspired, the 3-1 win at Aston Villa was embarassingly one-sided and the 5-0 thumping of Leyton Orient was a predictable stroll.

If the challenge wasn’t difficult enough already, WBA boss Steve Clarke has fitness concerns over Peter Odemwingie and fellow striker Romelu Lukaku. If one or both of those misses out, or isn’t 100%, then Moyes’ boys should definitely take the spoils. Everton (6/4) did the double over the Baggies last term and won the League Cup fixture between the sides to boot.

Wigan Athletic (5/4) are doing a pretty good job of suggesting that their improvement towards the latter part of 2011-12 is a permanent one. They have now won 8 of their last 11 top flight matches which rivals anyone in the Premier League. To be longer than evens money at home to a very out-of-sorts Stoke side is quite astounding.

The Potters won’t have enjoyed a 4-3 extra-time defeat to League One Swindon in midweek and they haven’t won in the league on their travels since 2 January. The Latics also tend to boss this particular fixture having not lost any of the last league six clashes.

Finally, I’m sticking with Blackpool after they won 6-0 as part of this feature last weekend. They have a 100% Championship record which in itself is enough to make the odds of 5/2 very alluring. They travel to a big-spending Leicester City side who continuously flatter to deceive.

The Foxes have lost both their away league fixtures so far and then brought their troubles home with them when slipping to a 4-2 defeat to Burton Albion in the League Cup. The gulf in form is huge between these two, with the underdogs well on top.
