Reading v West Ham Tip

It was 0-0 on Boxing Day for Reading against Swansea and there could be another late appearance on Match of the Day.

Reading will be desperate to record only their second win of the season against West Ham but instead an eighth draw seems far more likely at 5/2 with StanJames. However, I think we can get superior value but sticking our necks out and taking the 11/1 (BetVictor) on it ending 0-0.

Having previously failed to win a number of high-scoring encounters, the Royals have now developed a new problem; four of their last five fixtures ended without them even finding the net.  Pavel Pogrebnyak is often left ploughing a lone furrow up front, and it isn’t really working out.

The Hammers have had a really tough sequence with all of their last seven games coming against teams currently residing in the top ten. Sam Allarydce will hope for three points against seemingly softer opposition here but finding the net is also likely to be a problem for the visitors.

West Ham have mustered only 5 goals away from Upton Park, the worst travelling record in the division. With Andy Carroll still a big miss, everything suggests it could be a pretty squalid affair at the Madejski Stadium.

*When the price is the same, a ‘No Goalscorer’ first goalscorer bet is preferred to a 0-0 correct score, as own goals don’t count for first goalscorer purposes.
