Aston Villa haven’t found the net in any of their last three outings but that doesn’t mean they aren’t creating chances. By the law of averages they are well overdue, with that statement applying to Andreas Weimann more than anybody.

For most people it would be a major surprise to learn that the Austrian international has had 28 shots in 2013-14 - only six players in the entire top flight have had more efforts. However, all those attempts have brought just one league goal to date; that’s partly down to a lack of accuracy and partly due to a number of long-range efforts.

But that all accounted for, the 22-year-old is still likely to start firing soon and at best odds of 11/4 (Betfred) in the anytime goalscorer market versus West Ham, he represents value.
