Swans Looking Increasingly Serene

Swansea can move above their hosts with a third win on the bounce and they can benefit from a weekend off while WBA laboured.

Swansea find themselves as underdogs (21/10) to win at the Hawthorns on Tuesday night but both form and a closer look at shot data suggests they are a shrewd bet.

Francesco Guidolin began his time in charge of the Welsh club with a 2-1 success at Goodison Park which followed victory over Watford. Three more points here would move the Swans above their hosts.

West Brom are winless in three league outings and could only draw 2-2 with League One Peterborough in the FA Cup while Swansea had their feet up.

But none of this should really surprise us if you consider seasonal shooting analysis. The Baggies rank last (20th) for attempts on goal while Swansea are 13th.

Down the other end West Brom fare slightly better, only conceding the 15th most shots in the top flight. But again, their upcoming opponents are still better defensively, ranking a mid-table 11th.

The evidence suggests that the Swans are simply climbing the table to a position closer to what their performances deserve. In contrast, Tony Pulis’s boys should be lower if anything.
