Swans Can Pass Eagles Into Submission

Palace may hope that Swansea will have a Euro hangover, but the visitors may struggle to get the ball.

It will be interesting to see how Swansea react to the disappointment of their Europa League exit to Napoli on Thursday night, but they appear to have a good fixture in which to bounce back.

Garry Monk’s boys put in a superb performance in Naples and can count themselves very unlucky to be eliminated. However, fears that they will be exhausted on Sunday should be eased by possession statistics. The Swans have the best average possession record in the Premier League this season (59.6%) while Palace have the worst (38.4%).

This would suggest that the visitors will be the ones chasing themselves into fatigue and mistakes as happened in the return fixture at Selhurst Park. On that occasion Swansea ran out comfortable 2-0 winners and they should manage something similar on their own patch.

Palace have only scored 5 away goals all season, the worst effort in the division, so the home win to nil looks like a strong bet here at best odds of 2/1 with Ladbrokes.
