Southampton Keep On Rolling

Southampton Keep On Rolling

Southampton dominated Watford (24 shots to 5) but couldn’t find that winning goal. Whilst United’s ills don’t disappear after one win.

Some high profile recruits, a new manager, victory over Bournemouth and it’s as if the Louis Van Gaal era never existed. Everything suddenly looks rosy for Man Utd but one swallow doesn’t make a summer and we mustn’t forget they were wretched for large parts of 2016.

Southampton opened with a disappointing draw against Watford but were value for the win. An early goal from Etienne Capoue meant the away side could shut up shop and Southampton simply ran out of time.

The Saints outshot their rivals 24 to 5 with six of their efforts on target compared to Watford’s one – the goal.

Southampton keep improving year after year, they overcame the loss of Mauricio Pochettino and will probably do the same post-Koeman. In their last three seasons they have finished 8-7-6 in the league and shouldn’t be underestimated at Old Trafford. At 9/5 (Bet365) they are a good bet in the double chance market.
