Packing A Punch

Leicester have been a revelation so far, but no side has conceded nearly as many shots in the top flight. Can the Eagles winger profit?

Leicester City deservedly made all the headlines by beating Manchester United 5-3 last weekend but you wonder if it might be the case of after the Lord Mayor’s show at Selhurst Park.

As well as the Foxes have done so far on their return to the top flight, it’s worth noting that no side has allowed the opposition more shots on their goal in 2014-15.

The 107 attempts they have faced come at an average of 21.4 shots per game so the defence has been under considerable pressure and it’s fairly miraculous they have only conceded eight times so far.

Palace certainly struggle for clean sheets themselves, but the hosts will fancy their chances of keeping their recent run of goals going at least. In particular, Jason Puncheon looks good value at best odds of 7/2 (Betfred) to score anytime.

The Eagles winger actually averages more shots per game (2.3) than Leonardo Ulloa (2.2)  who already has 5 goals for Leicester. Puncheon found the net against Newcastle but we can look back to last season to really see his credentials.

The former Southampton man fired seven Premier League goals between January and April as the Londoners stormed to safety. He is still getting as many opportunities and could deliver for us at a pleasing price.
