Man Utd v Arsenal Tips: Draw

A draw would suit both managers and it is unlikely to be a high scoring affair given Arsenal’s strong defence.

This afternoon Arsenal’s title credentials are tested at Old Trafford and it is difficult to split the teams.

After a sticky start Manchester United are starting to find some form. Unbeaten in their last eight games, David Moyes will be desperate to keep the positive run going and in that respect a draw wouldn’t be a terrible result.

I expect Arsene Wenger would also settle for a point. A share of the spoils would keep United at arms lengths in the title race and with Chelsea dropping points at home to West Brom, the Gunners would escape a tricky weekend relatively unscathed.

At 12/5 (Stan James) a draw looks a backable price but we can improve those odds using a combination of statistics and offers.

Having not conceded more than one goal in a Premier League match since the opening of the season, Arsenal are unlikely to be involved in a high scoring draw. United have also improved defensively, borne out by recent clean sheets against Real Sociedad.

If we are backing the draw the most likely results are therefore 1-1 and 0-0 but we can cover both with one bet.

William Hill are a standout 13/2 on the 1-1 draw but they are also refunding losing correct score bets if the match finishes 0-0.

If the game finishes 0-0 we get our money back with plenty of upside for a 1-1 draw.
