Foxes Feeling Fine

Leicester are looking revitalised while Paul Lambert is feeling the unwanted scrutiny of the Villa fans again.

Leicester City are enjoying their best spell of the season and I’d be surprised if they didn’t pick up their first home league win since September at best odds of 6/5 (Bet365).

That statistic belies the Foxes’ form given that their last three outings have been very successful. They ended 2014 with a 1-0 victory at Hull, then clawed back a 2-0 deficit to draw 2-2 at Anfield in a match they deserved to win, before knocking Newcastle out of the FA Cup last time out.

Crucially, Leonardo Ulloa is back amongst the goals having found the net on both of his last two appearances at the King Power Stadium and, as we saw earlier in 2014-15, he is a player who can go on a run when he heats up.

Paul Lambert’s team were indebted to Christian Benteke saving their blushes in the 88th minute at home to Blackpool in the cup. It was very nearly a third consecutive 0-0 draw at Villa Park and the natives can only enthuse about the defence so much!

The west Midlanders have only scored twice in six matches, both courtesy of Benteke, and Nigel Pearson will know that his side can take the points if they keep the Belgian quiet.
