Fans Turn On Villains
Villa fans finally snapped when their team failed to beat League 2 Wycombe in the FA Cup to make it 16 matches without a win.
The stats don’t lie. Villa are in a diabolical state. The bookies may be in denial about the collapse of a great club because visitors to Villa Park can still be picked up to win at a good price from time to time.
On Tuesday Crystal Palace go there with the third best away record in the top flight (1.89 points per game) to face a side winless in front of their own fans all season. To make matters worse, those fans have started to rebel and it can’t be a positive thing when the captain is arguing with supporters however Remi Garde spins it.
The Eagles are available at 3/1 to win to nil and that looks inviting when you consider that Pardew’s boys have conceded the fewest of any side on the road (7) while Villa, unsurprisingly, have scored the fewest at home.
The Londoners looked back on track with their FA Cup win at Southampton. The same could not be said of the Villains.
